Sympa is a digital HR solution and service provider that has had success both nationally and globally. Sympa has always aspired to enter the international market. The decision to operate from the Askotalo building in Lahti is just as obvious.
Sympa started in the Askotalo building in 2012. In the early months of 2008, the premises were moved into more spacious facilities within the building, comprising of 7,500 square feet.
CEO Keijo Karjalainen sums up Sympa’s goals: “Growth, profitability and the joy of working. When working is fun, good things happen.” When visiting the facilities, we saw that “a management ideology based on conviviality and fun” has clearly had an effect on the planning of the new spaces. All Sympa employees had the chance to have their say on planning the facilities.
Half the space is reserved for concentrated work in a restrained open-plan office. Within this halftone office space equipped with soft wall-to-wall carpeting, a number of people can work in a gentle and quiet atmosphere. The open-plan office also hosts facilities for team meetings and video conferences. The other parts of the bright office space are visibly centred around fun and wellness: visitors are greeted by games and exercise facilities in the entrance lobby.
The Askotalo building not only provides customers with versatile conference rooms but also with the delicious cafeteria and restaurant services at Werstas. Sympa also utilises these services regularly. That is to say that Sympa is familiar with and a regular user of the whole package provided by the building.
