Completely new 800-square-metre premises were built in the “raw space” above the Puuvilla shopping centre in Pori for Etteplan’s Pori design office. The unit employs almost 70 professionals in the field of technical engineering. Even though work often takes place in customer premises, everyone has a desk in the in-house premises as well.
“Our modern open-plan office is supplemented by a few individual office rooms, quiet telephone rooms, Skype rooms and a meeting room,” lists Henri Toivonen, Area Manager at Etteplan.
The company’s Pori office carries out technical engineering primarily for industrial customers and in some respects also construction. “As a special space for larger projects, a teamwork space that meets stringent data security standards and offers opportunities for e.g. processing data in our own and the customer’s network was built for us,” Henri Toivonen says.
The space was built as a turnkey project
“We told Juha Veistonen, who is in charge of the Puuvilla property in Pori, about the requirements of our work, our working community and space-related needs. A special feature was that we wanted to make use of previously acquired furniture that was in a good condition, so the layout of the space had to be designed with certain limitations with regards to furniture,” Toivonen says.
“Our wishes were carefully listened to – and it became apparent to me right in the early design phases that we had found a good team for realising the premises. We had a strong urge and hurry to move into the new premises, and it was great that the office was completed according to the planned schedule.
